Game On - Kelly Jamieson

This was my first time reading a book by Kelly Jamieson and I must say I loved it! I'm a sucker for hockey romances and saw the blurb on this one and thought it might be fun and I was right.

Cam Brickley is a hockey player. He is known as a playboy and loves to make bets with his friends about anything. When his fellow hockey friends bet him that he couldn't date the same person for 2 months in a row and not fall in love with her, he easily takes that bet. The hot blonde sitting at the bar is just the person that his friends pick.

Olivia Lockwood, aka hot blonde, comes from a family of lots of money. Too bad she wants to make it on her own and not work for the family business. Olivia started a charity that helps underprivileged children keep active because of her problems in her youth. When Cam Brickley hits on her at a bar instead of blowing him off she plays along. He wouldn't be interested in her because of her money and family connections and he may be just the perfect choice to be a spokesperson for her charity.

What these two didn't realize is that they were both using each other to get something they each wanted. Funny how their original plans got blown out of the water because both of them ended up wanting more from their arrangement than they first intended. I just adored these two. Olivia doesn't want to be the rich princess and wants to do something good in her life. Cam never wanted a real relationship because of things from his past but Olivia quickly changes those thoughts. Together these two were fun, flirty and down right sexy. I loved every part of this story and would highly recommend it.

The Bastard (Filthy Duet, #1; Dirty Rich, #6) - Lisa Renee Jones

Eric Mitchell is the bastard son of Jeff Kingston.  When Eric's mom died of cancer and he had to go live with Jeff and his family, he was treated like an outsider.  Now Eric is out to prove that he is just as good, if not better than the rest of the Kingston's.

Eric's life is going well (he's almost a billionaire) until he see her....Harper Evan, the princess who is standing with the Kingston's.  She is the daughter of his father's latest wife, and his step sister.  The attraction between the two is instant.  After they spend some time together, Eric walks away.  He believes she is just like the rest of them and that is the last thing he needs.

6 years later Harper shows up at his office in New York wanting his help.  She believes Kingston Motors is in trouble and that something funny is going on.  It wouldn't be a big deal except Harper's mom took her trust fund money and gave it to Jeff to use.  Eric doesn't want to help but wants her to join his company instead, which she turns down.  After thinking about the situation, Eric ends up flying to Colorado to help Harper, not Kingston Motors.  This is when the fun begins.

There is something going on and Eric is trying to figure it out.  This story is such a mystery.  Just when you think you are figuring something out, wham, it changes directions.  I could not put this story down once I started reading it.  It does end on a cliffhanger and I cannot wait to see where this goes.

The Duke I Once Knew - Olivia Drake
I just adore second chances at love. Abigail "Abby" Linton and Maxwell Bryce, the Duke of Rothwell, were once best friends when they were school aged kids. When Max's mom passed away and his dad sent him away, they agreed to keep in touch through letters until they were both of age and could marry.
What neither of them knew was that the letters that each of them wrote never made it to the other, so they both thought the other didn't want them anymore.

Abby spent most of prime years taking care of her ailing mom. With both parents gone, and nearing 30, Abby decides she has to get out from under her siblings demands and take control of her own life. When she learns that Max's little sister is in need of a governess, she jumps at the chance. After all it has been 15 years since Max left.

Abby gets the job and imagine her surprise when Max shows up at Rothwell Court! Yep, fireworks are still there....too bad Max showed up with another woman and his group of friends!

As these two dance around their real feelings, the truth of what really happened 15 years ago comes to light. It takes a great leap of faith for these two to get their happy ending that they should have had years ago.

I just adored this book. Abby and Max were two young people when they met and their feelings for each other never really died as much as they tried to forget the other. I just love when love and happiness win out in the end. I really enjoyed all the other characters in the story also. Between Abby's crazy family, Lady Gwendolyn and Max's aunt Lady Hester, there is a lot of fun, entertaining craziness going on. Read this book, you will not be sorry!
Taking It Easy - Erin Nicholas

Logan Trahan is known as being a fun time playboy.  He owns a happening bar in New Orleans, but he generally has a care free, easy going lifestyle.  When he first meets Dana Doucet, he knows he wants her.  Too bad the single mom isn't falling for his lines.  Flash forward, Dana finally gives in only to find out that she unexpectantly gets pregnant.  Already having 2 girls, Dana doesn't know if she is ready to be a single mom to 3 kids having lost her husband 2 years ago while he was in the service.  When Logan hears the news he is beyond excited and brings his whole family into the situation to celebrate.

Dana is concerned that when the fun is over, Logan will go running but what she doesn't understand is that he is all in.  While Dana and Logan start to tread through life they realize that their chemistry is off the charts but will their relationship be the type to stand the test of time?  As Logan gets more involved with her daughters, Dana is slowing coming around.  Just as it looks as if things are going to go perfectly, life seems to get in the way.  It will take a big leap of faith for the playboy and the single mom to realize that what they have is really worth fighting for.

This was a fun, sexy story.  I just loved Logan.  He reminded me of my brother.  It was also fun having the story set in New Orleans.  I was just there and it was fun knowing of certain things the author was describing.  Overall I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it.

Kiss Me at Christmas - Valerie Bowman

We met Lady Regina Haversham in A Duke Like No Other....she is Mark Grimaldi's cousin.  During Mark's story, Regina was very attracted to Bow Street Runner Daffin Oakleaf.  So much so that she decides that she wants to lose her virginity to some one of her choosing before her 30th birthday when she will be forced to marry the Earl of Dryden.  Of course Daffin turns her down even though he is attracted to her.

Skip forward and it appears that someone is out to harm Lady Regina so Mark calls on his good friend Daffin asking if he would be Regina's bodyguard while he is out of town.  Daffin reluctantly agrees even though this means he will be staying under the same roof as Regina.....now the sparks can ignite!

While trying to figure out who is after Regina, Daffin and Regina spend a lot of time together making their chemistry combustible!  Just as things heat up, all hell breaks loose.  Now they just need a Christmastide miracle to get these two love shy people to open up their eyes and see what is right in front of them.  When all the dust settles, Daffin and Regina will finally get their happy ending!

I loved these two characters.  They both had such sad events happen in their childhood which had left both of them fairly jaded.  Together they brought out the best in each other.  Overall I really loved this story!

First Earl I See Tonight - Anna Bennett

David Gray, Earl of Ravenport may be an Earl, but having just been dumped by his fiance because of the state of his property, he has sworn off love and marrying. Instead he is concentrating on fixing everything up to its former glory so his Grandma can enjoy it before her sight completely goes.

Miss Fiona Hartley is not titled, but she comes from money and has a very large dowry to offer the right man. Too bad none are calling. When Fiona gets a letter blackmailing her regarding her younger sister, she must take matters into her own hands. If Fiona can find a man who is willing to marry her in the next 2 weeks, in exchange for her nice dowry, she will enter into a marriage of convenience, as long as they give her the money she needs to pay off the blackmailer. Of course who comes to mind, Gray, the Earl who was just dumped.

Gray thinks Fiona is nuts but agrees to think about her offer. He even invites her and her family to his house thinking that she will change her mind once she sees just how bad of shape the property is in. Instead, this ends up backfiring on him. Gray also finds the more time he spends with Fiona, they more he is starting to realize that he is developing feelings for her. It takes a huge leap of faith for these two to trust each other because they both are hiding secrets. In the end, love wins out and Gray and Fiona get their happy ending!

I loved both of these characters. Fiona is such a strong force and so dedicated to her family. Gray's only purpose in life is to make his Grandma happy....he doesn't care about himself....but deep down he is loyal and loving, even if he doesn't always show that side of himself to other people. Overall, I loved this book. It was fun, entertaining and swoon worthy.

Rough & Ready - Tracy Wolff

Tanner Green plays for the San Diego Lightning. He has really made a name for himself as one of the nice guys....probably has to do with having to raise 4 younger sisters and being the grandson of a preacher. Tanner always tries to give back to those in need because he remembers a time in his life when things were much harder.

Elara Vance is an ex-WNBA star player, having to retire because of an injury. Now she runs Rebound, a rec-center for underprivileged youth in her San Diego. Imagine her surprise when she finds out the donation she was suppose to receive ends up going to Tanner's foundation instead. Elara is pissed and wants to tell Tanner off and she does it in such a great way....in his locker room, in front of his friends. It was great. Only problem is, is that Tanner didn't realize any of this happened and he wants to help make things right. Too bad Elara isn't biting.

When Tanner shows up to Rebound that is when the fun begins. He doesn't realize that Elara is an ex-WNBA player and agrees to a little 2 on 2 pick up game each of them picking a youth. Imagine Tanner's surprise when Elara blows him away! I just FLOVE Elara!

As Tanner keeps trying to play nice, Elara isn't buying it. All ballers are just a bunch of players and because of something from her past, she is not getting played again. Slowly, Tanner is starting to break Elara's walls down. Just when it looks like they are going to get their happy ending, the past comes back to haunt both of them and together they need to work very hard to get that happy ending.

I loved both of these characters. Tanner really is a perfect guy. Sweet, thoughtful, loving....what more do you need???? Elara is such a strong female and loves to speak her mind. You do not want to cross her! I really enjoyed their happy ending too! Overall this was a great end to such a fun series.

Dream - Carly Phillips

Andrea "Andi" Harmon is Kane's little sister and we finally get to read her story. Now divorced, Andi has been trying to provide a good life for her 8 year old son, Nicky and all she cared about was keeping him away from his abusive father. Why Andi had to fall for the bad boy quarterback in high school, she'll never know. Too bad she didn't realize just how bad he was until it was too late. Because of her ex, Andi lost her best friend, Kyle Davenport....something that she regrets everyday.

Guess who just moved back to Rosewood Bay? Yep, Kyle. He is now Nicky's teacher. When Kyle realizes that Nicky is behind in his reading level, he asks Andi to come up to the school to discuss it. Yep, the old chemistry is still there....too bad Kyle never told Andi how he really felt about her all those years ago....things may have turned out differently.

As Kyle and Andi start to spend more time together, Kyle decides this time he isn't giving up. He will give 100% to get Andi to see him as something more than her old best friend. And boy does he! Andi really had no chance! Of course just when these two have broken down all of their walls from the past, the past comes roaring back in the form of Andi's ex, Billy. This time it will take both Andi and Kyle standing up for themselves so they can finally get their happy ending.

I just loved Andi and Kyle. You can't help but root for two people who are so genuinely nice and good. I also adored their happy ending. It was just perfect!

Wicked Wedding - Sawyer Bennett

We met Andrew Collings in the book Wicked Envy, which ended up being Dane and Avril's love story even though Drew was heavily involved in their story line. Now it is time for Drew to get his own happy ending.

Drew just finished throwing his best friends, Dane and Avril, the best wedding reception that money can buy. He truly is happy that they found love. On his way back to his condo from the reception, Drew sees a woman, in a bridal gown along the highway wanting to hitchhike. Drew decides to stop and offer his help.

Brynne Adams is pissed. Having just found out minutes before her wedding ceremony that her fiance cheated on her with her maid of honor AND his best man in a threesome, Brynne bolts out of the church and needs to get out of dodge. While riding with Drew, she gets a feeling of safety. She can't explain it, but she knows it's the right decision to be with him now. Drew proposes that they go get stinking drunk so that she will feel better. While drunk, Drew also proposes that they go get married....why waste a beautiful wedding gown, plus he still had his tux on. They find out they can get it annulled in 2o days, so they go for it.

What neither of them expected was that they would both end up falling hard for the other. Everything was perfect and magical, even the sex...until Brynne finds out Drew's little secret. It takes a lot of love and a huge leap of faith for Brynne to be able get past Drew's little omission. In the end, love wins out and Drew and Brynne get their happy ever after!

I just loved this story! Both of these characters were so fun. I just love a nerdy, sexy guy and Brynne fit his personality perfectly! Great sexy, fun read!

At the Stroke of Midnight - Tara Sivec

This is the first book in the Naughty Princess Club, but actually the last one of the three in the series that I read.  While I think it would have been better reading the series in order, you really didn't have to.

Cynthia Castle had the picture perfect life.  She lived in the big house on Fairytale Lane, with her perfect husband and her perfect teenage daughter....or at least that is what she let everyone think.  In reality her life was miserable so when her husband up and left, WITH THE BABYSITTER!!! and took all of their money, Cynthia had no idea what to do but still pretend everything was perfect.

When Cynthia meets the divorced, redhead on the street, Ariel, she is thrown for a loop and immediately treats her like an outcast.  Ariel calls her out on her perfect life and then drops a bombshell.  When Cynthia faints, a tall, handsome stranger comes to her rescue and carries her back into her house.

At the Halloween street party, Cynthia, Ariel and Belle all dress up as Disney princesses.  When one of the guys suggest they show up at his party dressed like that and he will pay them, they decide to do it since they need the money.  When they end up at the guys party, they realize that the guest of honor, PJ Charming, is the handsome man who rescued Cynthia and he is not too happy that the girls are there.  They were the hired strippers only they didn't realizes that was the job they were hired for!  LOL

When PJ explains to Cindy, Belle and Ariel that they are not cut out to be a strippers, they set out to prove him wrong.  This move riles PJ up....he likes this feisty side of Cindy.  The more PJ and Cindy keep crossing paths, the more the attraction starts to escalate until these two finally get to their happy ending.

I just loved the transformation Cindy went through to become the woman PJ fell in love with.  It was fun watching her shred that perfect image.  I also loved the friendship between Cindy, Belle and Ariel.  These girls are fun and entertaining in their own ways.

Gentleman Nine - Penelope Ward

Amber Walton was best friends Lainey Lord.  When Lainey unexpectedly dies, Amber starts hanging around her brother Channing and his friend Rory Calhoun.  They become the best of friends bonding over the tragedy.  Channing and Rory make a pact that neither of them will make a move on Amber.  When Channing leaves to go away to college, Rory makes his move.  Rory and Amber end up dating for 9 years until he breaks her heart because he needs a break.  Enter Channing.

Channing hears the news and quickly calls Amber.  He also has a favor to ask...can he rent her extra room at her place for a few months for a temp contractor job he just got.  Amber hesitantly agrees.  Problem is, she has always had a crush on Channing!  What she doesn't know is that Channing has always wanted her!

When Channing finds Amber's laptop open he sees that she has contacted a male escort service for a sex with no strings type of night.  She also sees that Amber has admitted that she is attracted to Channing.  This causes Channing to make believe like he is the Gentleman Nine Amber wants to hook up with.  She has a list of things she wants to try and Channing can't wait!  When Amber goes to meet Gentleman Nine, she runs into Channing.  He convinces her to do those things with him instead.  Of course, over the time they spend together, they start to realize there is more to their relationship than just sex.

I loved this book and couldn't put it down!  I really enjoyed these two characters too.  They both deserved a happy ever after even if they had to wait a really long time for it.  The ending was so perfect....and a big tearjerker!

Tapping the Billionaire (Bad Boy Billionaires Book 1) - Max Monroe

Kline Brooks is the CEO of Brooks Media, smart (Harvard grad), sexy and a billionaire, along with being sweet and a gentleman....what more could you want!

Georgia Cummings works at Brooks Media as the Director of Marketing.  She is tired of the dating scene and the idiots out there.  As a work requirement, Georgia has to have an account on the app TapNext, the hot new dating app that was developed by her company.  When some guy sends a pic of his member that is disgusting, she decides to respond back.  Turns out his friend sent the pic, not him.  Also it turns out that the person is Kline, but neither of them realize who the other person is.

This exchange starts the fun between these two.  They both keep flirting with each other anonymously and are having a lot of fun, yet at work everything is business as usual.

When Kline needs a date for a fundraiser he does not want his mom to set him up so he tells her a little white lie that he already has a date.  Too bad he doesn't.  Leaving his office he sees Georgia and realizes that he has never really looked at her beauty before.  On a whim he decides to ask her to be his date.  At first Georgia turns him down, then he convinces her to accept.

Things between Georgia and Kline continue progress while things on TapNext continue to progress also.  Georgia feels like she is emotionally cheating on Kline but in the meantime he figures out the truth and uses it to his advantage.  You can imagine what happens when Georgia finds out the truth!

This was my first Max Monroe book, but it will not be my last.  If you are looking for a fun, hot, laugh out loud contemporary romance, with such fun, crazy off the wall characters, pick this one up!  Through all their time together, Georgia and Kline were fun, sexy and perfect together.  I just adored both of these characters and the road they took to their happy ending.  The secondary characters were just as fun.  Read this story....you won't be sorry!

Hard Sell - Lauren Layne

Matt Cannon is young, rich and one of the best brokers on Wall Street. It also looks like his partying ways have caught up with him. After a fun, wild weekend in Las Vegas for his cousin's bachelor party, Matt ends up in the pages of the Wall Street Journal with a barely dressed female on top of him. Evidentially, a WSJ employee saw him and thought he'd make a great story. As you can imagine, the Sam's (the owners of Wolffe Investments are not too happy. Matt is told to stop his playboy ways, get a steady girlfriend, or lose his job!

Matt does not want to settle down so he decides he must find a woman, willing to pretend to be his girlfriend for a short time, who also will not fall in love with him in the process. Who else but Sabrina Cross, Ian's best friend from his childhood. Sabrina is a fixer in Manhattan and one of the best. They may have a love/hate friends with benefits type of relationship but he figures if he pays her enough, she could pull it off.

Wow! These two together will so fun! Sabrina is actually someone who doesn't fall for Matt's crap. Yeah, she may enjoy the "benefits" with him, just as long as he doesn't open his mouth! Sabrina is fun, sexy and down right sassy and boy did she give Matt a run for his money.

As these two try to pull off faking a relationship, of course one truly starts to develop. It was so fun to watch these two as they tried to ignore the pull. Overall this story was perfect! I just adored both character and their story was both fun, sexy and totally swoon worthy. I just could not put this book down!

Maybe This Time: A Whiskey and Weddings Novel - Nicole Perkins McLaughlin
Some may say that this past year has been really crappy for Alexis Parker. Not only did she lose her fiance to a horrific accident, it also happened two weeks before their wedding. Now out of the service, Alex heads to Italy for a year before starting her new life because this was the plan they had, their big dream. Just before leaving, Alex has a heartfelt talk with Jake Cooper, one of her brother Dean's best friends and co-owner of his whiskey business. It felt nice to just talk to someone who would listen and not judge. Throughout the past year Alex and Jake have continued this friendship unbeknownst to everyone else. They have shared secrets that no one else even knows about.

A year later, Alex is back in Kansas City, KS and Jake is excited to see her again. Dean offers her a job at Stag Distillery and she accepts for the time being. Alex is nervous seeing Jake. He tends to be the playboy of the group but she finds out she is pleasantly surprised by him. When the opportunity for Alex and Jake to go on a 2 week road tour for Stage Distillery arises, she jumps on the chance. What Alex was hoping for is that Jake could help her get "back in the saddle", after all, he is a playboy! What neither of them expected was for anything to lead to more than just a fling.

As these two come to grips with with who they are, and what they are together they take a long journey throughout their pasts to finally be able to find their happy ending.

I just adored this story. Both characters were wonderful. Alex was having a hard time with finding direction in her life while at the same time Jake felt like he was stuck in a rut. Together they really made each other complete.

I have never read a Nicole McLaughlin book before and I was deeply surprised. This story had such heart and wonderful characters and I am sure I will be reading her books again.
Dirty Filthy Rich Love - Laurelin Paige

Now that Donovan's secret is out, Sabrina is not sure what to do.  She knows that she needs to talk to him....in person.  Together they need to discuss a few things.....but she is not chasing him to France.  She will bide her time until he returns.

It's so hard to write this review without giving away the secrets.  Let's just say that his secret is a doozy that I never saw coming and it will take a huge leap of faith for Sabrina and Donovan to get to their happy ending but it is so worth it.

I just adored these two.  Sabrina is so strong and Donovan is so flawed, but strong in his own way and together they are perfect!

As Sabrina spends more time with Donovan, she realizes that he is really the person she wants.  Of course, life has a funny way of ruining everything.  When Sabrina finds out a huge secret that Donovan is keeping from her, all hell breaks loose.  This story ends on a cliffhanger.....a BIG cliffhanger!

Damn....when I started this book, I was not ready for the crazy ride that Laurelin Paige will take you on.  I could not put this book down.  It was filled with such great twists and turns.  I just had to start the next book right away.
